Trojans celebrate senior swimmers

FAIRFIELD - Trojan seniors Madelyn Hanna, Delaney Mondia, Emily McAvan, Erica Olson, Katie McLain, Tessa Seibert, Kyra Hunter and Téa Harris were honored Tuesday at Fairfield's final home meet of the 2019 season. Fairfield will swim next Nov. 2 at Grinnell in a state-qualifying meet.

'I am so proud of each and every one of these girls,” Fairfield coach Brittany Winslow said. 'They all have improved and worked hard throughout the season. Many personal records were beat (Tuesday) night and it was a great way to end the season! We had a lot of fun this year and we will continue to work hard to prepare for Regionals.”

Burlington defeated Fairfield 75-19 but the Trojans swam past Keokuk 52-42.

Olson was the sole Fairfield winner, grabbing a win in the 200-yard freestyle in 2 minutes, 29.46 seconds.
