Trojans come up short vs. Ft. Madison
Still looking for its first victory of 2010, the Fairfield girls? tennis team came up shy again Tuesday falling just one match short.
Following a 3-3 tie coming out of singles play, Fort Madison took two of three doubles matches to take care of the Trojans by a final score of 5-4.

Still looking for its first victory of 2010, the Fairfield girls? tennis team came up shy again Tuesday falling just one match short.
Following a 3-3 tie coming out of singles play, Fort Madison took two of three doubles matches to take care of the Trojans by a final score of 5-4.
Haylee Gilpin stayed undefeated on the season at No. 6 singles for the Trojans, winning 8-2, and Qianying Li blanked Taylor Vandenberg for an 8-0 victory. Gilpin and Li then teamed up to win an 8-5 doubles match to draw Fairfield within one point in the team score.
Emily Lemke scored the third singles victory for Fairfield by way of a tiebreaker. Lemke fought off Fort Madison?s Stephanie Frenz to win the closest match of the day 9-8 (7-5) at No. 4 singles.
Frenz got back at Lemke, along with teammate Darian Lightfoot, winning 8-5 at No. 2 doubles to clinch the match.
The Trojans will look for victory No. 1 again in their next match slated for Thursday at home vs. Mount Pleasant.
