For the first time all winter, the Fairfield, Washington and Mt. Pleasant girls basketball teams were all in action at the same time on Tuesday night.
The Trojans, Demons and Panthers all traveled for the first full night of big school basketball. Fairfield and Washington brought back victories.
The Trojans wiped out Knoxville 64-16 to move to 1-1 on the season. Fairfield was all over the Panthers from the opening tip, leaping out to a 35-8 at halftime and never looking back to earn the first win under the second reign of head coach Brian Witzenberg.
Washington traveled up to Muscatine to start the year off right with a 58-32 win. The Demons are now 1-0 under new head coach Colin Mulford.
Mt. Pleasant had a tough matchup in Pella, playing against a perennial power on the road. The Panthers were taken down 57-12.
All three area big schools will be on break until after the Thanksgiving weekend.
