Trojans go 2-1 over weekend
Fairfield baseball beats Blue Demons at home, goes 1-1 at EBF

FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield baseball team kept the offensive juices flowing in a non-conference home game against Albia on Friday night, beating the Blue Demons 9-4. The Trojans then split games at a triangular at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on Saturday, beating EBF 7-1 and falling 6-2 against Central Dewitt.
Fairfield knocked the ball around against Albia, collecting nine RBIs on the night. Landon Nodurt had a big outing, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored.
Tallon Bates followed up a heroic night on Thursday by going 1-for-1 with a triple and three RBIs against Albia. Dain Burkhart was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
Isaac Harris and Nate Konczal split time on the mound. Konczal earned the win, giving up one unearned run over 3.2 innings. Harris went 3.1 innings, giving up three runs (two earned).
The Trojans had nine hits and six RBIs against EBF. Tate Allen was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI to lead the team.
Voss Richardson and Archer Kreuter split time on the mound against the Rockets. Richardson got the win, giving up one earned run over four innings. Kreuter went three innings and gave up no runs.
The Trojan offense finally cooled off against a 19-8 Central Dewitt team. In the four-run loss, Fairfield collected five hits. Caden Allison led the way, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Nodurt took the loss on the mound, giving up six runs (four earned) over four innings.
