The Southeast Conference released its All-Conference volleyball team this week, and the newly-crowned champion Fairfield Trojans lead the list.
Fairfield had seven players named to the All-SEC squads, including two first-teamers, three second teamers and two honorable mentions.
Trojan senior hitter Macy Rayburn and setter Maddie Jones made the first team, which consisted of seven players. Burlington sophomore Annalise Buxton earned Player of the Year honors.
Fairfield senior defensive specialist Kiya Robertson made the second team, as did fellow senior Maggie Rayburn, an outside hitter. All-around player Lilly Bergren made second team as well, the only underclassmen to grace the list from Fairfield.
The only freshman to appear on either the first or second team was Washington outside hitter Leighton Messinger. The Demons also had a second-teamer in senior middle hitter Alex Murphy.
Mt. Pleasant’s lone first-teamer was senior Tristian Shull. The Panthers didn’t put a name on the second squad.
Each SEC team had two honorable mentions. Fairfield juniors Rowan Terrell and Addison Ferrel were selected, as were Mt. Pleasant senior Andrea Lopreato, Mt. Pleasant freshman Addison Clark and Washington sophomore’s Ella Greiner and Ruby Witthoft.
