Trojans, Panthers split on the lanes
Fairfield boys, Mt. Pleasant girls victorious; Washington swept at L&M

FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield bowling teams hosted Highway 34 rival Mt. Pleasant at Flamingo Lanes on Monday afternoon, and when the dust was settled, both programs walked off the lanes with a victory.
The Trojan boys knocked the Panthers off 2,738-2,302. Mt. Pleasant got it back on the girls’ side, winning 2,209-1,862.
Fairfield’s Ethan Cass led all bowlers with a 410 on the day, leading a Trojan squad crowded the entire Top-5. Dayson Workman rolled a 404. Axl Starr finished at 370. Dylan Adam rolled 356. Ian Aplara rounded out the Top-5 with a 350, and Blake Ballew finished at 330.
Mt. Pleasant’s Henry Pforts was sixth place overall, bowling a 346. Xachary LeBlanc finished at 305. Keagan Ellington rolled a 287. Joseph Rheinschmidt ended at 283. Mason Frueh bowled a 271, and Matthew Schnicker rolled a 260.
On the girls’ side, Mt. Pleasant’s Shyann Smith and Bethany Drury were the lone bowlers to finish over 300. Smith bowled a 327 to lead the way, and Drury wasn’t far behind, with a 322.
Madelynn Millard rolled a 286. Natalie Brush bowled a 280. Joanna Fortin finished at 268, and Savannah Smith bowled a 171.
Fairfield’s Emma Cass ended the day at 294, taking third place overall. Grace Forrest bowled a 262. Autumn McBride finished at 232. Emma Forrest bowled a 204, and Addison Harris rolled a 185.
The Washington bowling teams were also in action on Monday. The Demons dropped two road contests to Louisa-Muscatine, as the Washington boys fell 3,018-2,383, and the girls dropped their contest 2,896-790.
