Trojans, Panthers trade wins on the lanes

FAIRFIELD — A couple of Southeast Conference bowling streaks continued at the lanes in Fairfield on Monday. The Trojan boys bowling team beat Mt. Pleasant for the seventh-straight time, while the Panther girls beat their Highway 34 rivals for the ninth time in a row.
The Trojan boys beat the Panthers 2,530-2,292, while the Mt. Pleasant girls pulled out a nail-biter, winning 1,924-1,906.
The Fairfield boys finished with six out of the seven best bowlers on the boys’ side. Blake Ballew led Fairfield with a 400. Henry Swan bowled a 386. Corbin Starr finished at 340. Dayson Workman rolled a 321, and Aaron Carlson and Eli Aplara finished at 319 and 312 respectively.
The best individual performance of the day, however, went to Mt. Pleasant’s Joseph Rheinschmidt. The Panther senior was the top individual by 32 pins, finishing the day ta 432.
Ethan Payne ended the night at 309. Xachary LeBlanc rolled a 304. Mason Frueh finished at 280. Rhys Nelson bowled a 280, and Lucas Mellinger finished at 255.
On the girls’ side, Mt. Pleasant’s Shyann Smith finished at 342. Addison Butcher bowled a 260. Natalie Brush finished at 254. Madelynn Millard rolled a 213, and Lena Nelson and Savannah Smith closed the day at out at 200 and 199 respectively.
Autumn McBrdie led the Fairfield girls with a 314. Emma Cass finished at 257. Braezen Stutzman closed the day out at 242. Emma Forrest rolled a 232, and Brooklyn Gridley ended the match with a 205.
The Trojan boys moved to 2-2 overall with the win, while Mt. Pleasant fell to 1-2. The Panther girls are now 2-2 overall, while Fairfield sits at 1-3.
