WELLMAN ? Free throws were the difference between Fairfield and Lisbon at Tuesday?s Mid-Prairie Jamboree.
Lisbon senior Jordan Bahl made two foul shots with 12.9 seconds remaining to seal a 42-35 win for the Lions, who made 15 of 21 shots from the charity stripe.
Fairfield trailed by three points with 42.7 seconds, but Lisbon senior Ben Knake, Bahl and junior John Noll each made a pair of free throws to close out the two-quarter scrimmage.
The Trojans were 4-for-13 from the free-throw line in the contest.
Fairfield fell behind 12-4 early in the first quarter, but came back to take the lead midway through the second quarter when Fry scored back-to-back layups. The Trojans still led with under two minutes remaining until Knake, inbounding the ball from under the Lions? basket, threw the ball off a Fairfield player, caught it, and laid it in while getting fouled. The three-point play gave Lisbon the lead for good.
Fry led the Trojans with 13 points. Fitch and senior Davis Lowenberg both scored five points, while senior Brent Buch and Braz Johnson both chipped in four points.
