Trojans tumble to Fort Madison girls in soccer

FORT MADISON — Fairfield’s girls traveled to the Baxter Sports Complex Monday where a Southeast Conference soccer match with Fort Madison awaited.
The Trojans got an early goal from Lilian Buie but couldn’t hold off the Bloodhounds offense despite 20 saves by Trisha Westphal.
Fairfield lost 8-1. The Trojans defeated Fort Madison in Fairfield April 15 2-1.
The halftime score was 4-1, but the Bloodhounds blanked Fairfield in the second half to improve to 4-4, 2-4 in the SEC. Fairfield is 1-8 overall, 1-6 in the SEC.
