Conference play heated up for the area’s small school baseball teams on Tuesday night.
Belle Plaine 6, Keota 5 (8)
The Eagles held a 4-0 lead midway through a South Iowa Cedar League clash with Belle Plain, but the Plainsman stormed back to walk Keota off in extra innings.
No. 7 (2A) Mid-Prairie 11, Tipton 4
Mid-Prairie trailed 1-0 going into the fourth inning of a River Valley South road game, but the Golden Hawk bats came alive late.
Bowen Burmeister went 3-for-5 with an RBI in the win. Tatem Telfer was 1-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Brock Harland knocked in two runs, and Brady Weber locked up the win on the mound.
Mediapolis 7, New London 1
New London dropped a Southeast Iowa Super Conference South Division road game at Mediapolis.
The Bulldogs scored four runs in the first inning and never looked back.
Notre Dame 5, Van Buren County 0
The Nikes were able to shutdown the Van Buren County offense, as the Warriors lost despite Aidan McEntee giginv up just one unearned run over 4.2 innings.
Hillcrest Academy 6, Lone Tree 2
The Ravens scored four runs in the sixth to run away from the Lions.
Phoenix Anderson threw a complete game, giving up just two runs (one earned) while striking out 10 batters. Seth Ours led the offense, going 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.
Highland 10, Louisa-Muscatine 9
The Highland offense exploded in a high-scoring battle with Louisa-Muscatine.
Ryker Miller went 1-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs, and Cash Cole knocked in two.
