It was a big day in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference on Tuesday as division games took place all around Southeast Iowa.
Van Buren County 8, New London 4
Van Buren County relayed from a 2-0 deficit to beat New London in a SEISC South battle.
Alli Campbell was 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs. Kylee Roen, Cala Smith and Lexee Freeze each had RBIs, and Callie Kracht finished with a pair of hits.
Campbell held the Tigers to five hits from the circle. She gave up four runs (two earned) over seven frames.
Highland 8, Columbus 4
Columbus put a scare into the visiting Huskies as the game was tied 2-2 after five, but six runs over the last two frames helped push the Huskies to victory.
Sarah Burton went 2-for-4 with a solo home run to lead Highland. Mackinze Hora had an RBI as well. Jessica Kraus was 1-for-2 with a double, and Grace Batcheller gave up just four runs over seven innings to earn the win.
Lily Coil had another big night for Columbus. She went 3-for-4 with two triples and two runs scored. Jocelyn Fulton was 1-for-4 with an RBI, and Frannie Sosa went 1-for-3.
Winfield-Mount Union 5, Hillcrest Academy 0
The WMU defense held strong as the Wolves shut out the Ravens in a SEISC North battle.
WMU scored two runs in the first inning and one each in the third, fourth and sixth.
Pekin 8, Lone Tree 6
Pekin scored the first seven runs in a SEISC North battle.
Brooke Miller dominated at the plate and won in the circle to lead the Panthers to victory. She went 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs and also threw a complete game.
Myah Bainbridge went 2-for-4 with a solo homer for the Panthers, and Claire Roth was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
Central Lee 2, Cardinal 0
Cardinal’s offense couldn’t get on the ground in a South Division home game against Central Lee.
Nicoa McClure threw seven innings and gave up just five hits, but the Hawks scored two unearned runs in the sixth.
Cardinal had just one hit on the day. Emma Becker was 1-for-3 with a single.
