The Fairfield parks and recreation department will host the 2018 Turkey Trot Saturday Nov. 17 at 9 a.m. with check-in beginning at 8:30 a.m.

The route begins at Chautauqua Park's shelter No. 1 and heads downhill towards the Walton Club with the race on the Jefferson Country Loop Trail.

There will be a 5k run and also a one mile fun run/walk with all participants entered into a drawing for one of five turkeys that will be given away.

Registration is $15 and includes a free event t-shirt if submitted by Friday, Nov. 9.

Entry forms can be filled out online at ia-fairfield.civicplus.com or at 1000 West Burlington Avenue in Fairfield.
