Union area qualifiers for Drake

It is a singularly elite event, with more cachet that a state championship where there are four classes of titlists. The Drake Relays are back after the coronavirus caused the cancellation of the competition in 2020.

Union area athletes have qualified in 25 events.

Some adjustments have been instituted due to the continuing pandemic. A limit on attendance means the event has already sold out before anyone knew who would qualify. The high school competition has been reduced to one day, Thursday.

Mt. Pleasant is sending eight athletes in five events and Washington four boys in two events. Mid-Prairie has seven going in eight events. Fairfield has six girls going in five events. New London’s Carter Allen is participating in the two throws.
