Fairfield volleyball gets its start on Thursday as well, taking on No. 2 Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont and WACO.
The first cross-country meet of the season for the area big schools will be in Anamosa. Both the Washington boys and girls will compete in that one.
To end the week, Washington, Fairfield and Mt. Pleasant volleyball will all head up to Grinnell for a 12 team tournament.
On the small school side of things, it’s much of the same. All the area small school football teams will play on Friday night.
