Van Buren boys place third in Bloomfield
BLOOMFIELD ? Seth Dickinson finished sixth and Thomas Fitzsimmons took 11th to lead the Van Buren boys? cross country team to a third-place finish Thursday in Bloomfield.
The Warriors scored 67 points, finishing 14 points ahead of fourth-place Centerville. Dickinson crossed the finish line in 18:45 and Fitzsimmons finished in 19:40.

The Warriors scored 67 points, finishing 14 points ahead of fourth-place Centerville. Dickinson crossed the finish line in 18:45 and Fitzsimmons finished in 19:40.
Other scoring times came from Nolan Lydolph in 12th place (19:59), Drew Nolting in 16th (20:32) and Dalton Haynes in 22nd place (20:53).
Tyler Runyon (21:09) and Josh Wenke (21:43) also had varsity times.
In the girls? race, the Warriors finished in fourth place out of five teams thanks in part to a sixth-place finish from Unity Daugherty and 15th placing from Sydney Atwood. The Warriors scored 97 points, while Davis County won the meet with just 25.
Daugherty finished the race in 17:20 and Atwood posted a time of 19:49. Caitlyn Millard (22nd, 21:09), Jessie Cassens (26th, 23:30) and Taylor Murguia (28th, 23:53) also placed for Van Buren.
The Van Buren runners have a week off until next Thursday?s meet in Fort Madison.
