Van Buren boys total 92 points, finish third
DONNELLSON ? The Van Buren boys? track team won one event and placed runner-up in four others to finish third out of eight teams at the Southeast Iowa Superconference Relays in Donnellson Thursday.

DONNELLSON ? The Van Buren boys? track team won one event and placed runner-up in four others to finish third out of eight teams at the Southeast Iowa Superconference Relays in Donnellson Thursday.
The Warriors scored 92 points to finish behind Central Lee?s 101 and West Burlington/Notre Dame?s 141 points.
Austin Gire led the Warriors with a win in the 400-meter dash (54.21). Gire also finished second in the 100 (11.55) and third in the 200 (23.66).
Elliott Remick and Brayden Starnes added a pair of second-place finishes. Remick finished runner-up in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 16.28 seconds, while Starnes posted a runner-up time of 2:12.56 in the 800-meter run. Van Buren?s shuttle hurdle relay also finished second.
Other high placings came from Thomas Fitzsimmons in the 3,200 (third place, 11:41) and 1,600 (fourth place, 5:17), Lucas Sherrod in the 800 (third, 2:16.98), Seth Dickinson in the 3,200 (fourth, 12:09) and Curtis Thomas in the shot put (fourth, 36? 10?).
The Warriors? 4x800 relay was third in 9:27.99, and their distance medley relay finished fourth at 4:15.
The meet was cut short, with the 4x100 and 4x400 races left, due to lightning.
The Van Buren boys will be back in action in Tipton for districts Thursday.
Comet boys finish fourth
DONNELLSON ? The Comet boys won two events and tallied 56 points to take fourth at the SEISC Relays in Donnellson.
The two victories came from Jonathan Pedersen in the 110-meter hurdles (16.21) and the shuttle hurdle relay (1:05.09).
The Comets tacked on a second-place finish in the 4x200 (1:38.34).
Tyler Albert was third in the 110-highs (17.60) and finished fourth in the long jump (17? 9?). Charlie Rachford added a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash (24.35), and Neil Urtado was fourth fastest in the 400-meter hurdles (1:02.62).
The Comets continue the postseason next Thursday at districts in Truro.
