Van Buren County, Columbus eliminated

The Van Buren County and Columbus volleyball teams were both eliminated in Monday night's Class 2A REegion 8 semifinals. VBC fell in four sets to No. 14 West Branch, and Columbus was swept by No. 2 Wilton.
VBC met up with West Branch at Mediapolis High School. After falling in the first two sets, 25-21 and 25-6, VBC jumped out to a 9-1 lead and held on 25-21. West Branch closed it out with a 25-14 win in the fourth set.
Columbus struggled to contain a stacked Wilton team in their game at Durant. Wilton won the first two sets 25-4 and 25-6. Columbus played their best game in the third, but fell 25-10.
