WEST BRANCH - Despite winning three-straight matches to end the meet on Tuesday night at West Branch, Van Buren County came up six points short of a win.
The Warriors led 12-9 midway through the meet, thanks to pins by Darrin Coffman at 145 pounds and Brant Tedrow at 220. West Branch took the next four, however, two of which came on forfeits, and built a 33-12 lead.
The Warriors took two back on forfeits at 126 pounds and 132 pounds, and Tyler Stoltz won on a 6-0 decision in the final match, at 138 pounds. It was too little too late, though, as West Branch was still at a six point advantage.
