BLOOMFIELD — Van Buren County’s struggles against Davis County continued on Friday night, as the Warrior football team was hampered by a stingy Mustang defense. Davis County bumped Van Buren 29-8.
The Mustangs scored once in the first quarter and twice in the second to take a 21-0 lead. After a scoreless third, Davis County went up 29-0 with a touchdown and two-point conversion early in the fourth.
Van Buren County’s only touchdown came on a 1-yard run by Sam Warth. Tyler Stoltz punched in the two-point conversion.
The Warriors are now 1-1 on the year. They will host Louisa-Muscatine (0-2) in the homecoming game next Friday.
