BLOOMFIELD — It was a tough Saturday night on the road for the Van Buren County girls basketball team.
The Warriors headed west to Davis County, suffering their fourth straight loss, 57-42.
Davis County outscored the Warriors in all four quarters, but it was a tight race.
The largest quarter lost for Van Buren County was the first, and the lead gradually built as the game progressed.
At the end of the first quarter, the Warriors trailed 22-15. In the second quarter, Van Buren lost by just two points, 14-12, but the Mustangs’ lead grew to nine, 36-27.
In the second half, the Warriors’ offense went stagnant. Van Buren scored just 15, seven in the third and eight in the forth.
As for the Mustangs, their offensive efforts slowed, too. They scored 21 in the half, 10 in the third and 11 in fourth, but it was enough to get the job done.
With the loss, the Warriors fall to 2-10 on the season.
Van Buren County will be back in action at home on Tuesday against Holy Trinity Catholic.
