Van Buren golfers fall at New London
NEW LONDON ? The Van Buren golf team suffered two losses at the hands of seasoned New London teams at Deerwood Golf Club Tuesday afternoon.
The Warrior girls were edged by just four strokes, 207-211, while the boys? team was handed a 164-204 loss.

NEW LONDON ? The Van Buren golf team suffered two losses at the hands of seasoned New London teams at Deerwood Golf Club Tuesday afternoon.
The Warrior girls were edged by just four strokes, 207-211, while the boys? team was handed a 164-204 loss.
In the girls? match Roni Delaney was the meet medalist for New London while Alex Rambo put together an excellent round of 44 to lead Van Buren. Kaila Butts carded a 52, Maddisen Hughes had a 57 and Payten Hughes turned in a 58 to complete the team score. Monica Chapuis and Meredith Miller were alternates for Van Buren.
For the boys, New London?s six individuals all shot under Van Buren?s best score to easily win the match by 40 strokes. Kyle Helmerson was the meet medalist with a 38 while Micah Alden was runner-up with a 40.
Ryan Nelson led Van Buren with a 48 followed by Jordan Hagans (49), Kyle Johnson (51) and Austin Countryman (56). Bryton Woods shot a 53 and Colton Robison carded a 54 in JV action for the Warriors.
Next up for the Van Buren golf teams will be a trip to Danville Thursday.
