If Van Buren is going to find win No. 2 this season, a Friday matchup with Highland should provide the Warriors with their best opportunity in weeks.
Van Buren has struggled in its first year back to varsity action, but Highland (2-5, 1-4 District 6) hasn?t been able to find the win column since Week 3 and has been outscored 146-63 in that span.
Despite a balanced attack that has gained 1,138 yards through the air and 935 yards on the ground, the Huskies are sixth out of eight teams in total offense in the district.
Van Buren (1-6, 0-4), meanwhile, is coming off a game vs. West Branch with plenty of positives despite falling 49-14. Blake Scott went 6-of-13 for 84 yards passing and ran for another 100 yards. Mitchell Bartholomew, who has recorded 63 tackles this season, had 10 stops last week.
The game is set to begin at 7 p.m. in Keosauqua.
