Van Buren stalls at home

KEOSAUQUA - It was another rough one or the Van Buren Warriors football team on Friday night, this time at home against district foe Wapello.
The Indians put up a season high against the Warriors, beating them 57-14 to hand Van Buren its second straight loss.
Wapello didn't waste much time scoring and put the game out of reach early. The Indians led 43-8 at halftime, starting the running clock at the half. The Warriors scored just once in each half.
Lane Davis had a nice game throwing the ball, despite the loss. He went 8-10 for 113 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 16.
Tony Davidson caught five passes for 82 yards and a touchdown. Corey Bunnell caught two passes for 17 yards and a score.
Cohyn Jury and Teddy Metcalf each ran for 25 yards to co-lead the squad. Tony Davidson ran for 18 yards.
The leading tacklers for Van Buren were Brant Tedrow and Kaleb Troutman, both of which had six tackles on the night.
Van Buren fell to 1-6 overall and 1-2 in district playl after winning its league opener two weeks ago at Columbus. The raod doesn't get much easier from here, as Van Buren will play at Mediapolis (6-1, 3-0) this week before closing out the season at home against Wilton.
