CORYDON - The Van Buren football team ran into a buzz saw on Friday night against the high-flying Wayne Falcons. Wayne dominated the game from start to finish, defeating the Warriors 80-0.
Van Buren trailed 26-0 after the first quarter and 54-0 at halftime, thanks in part to two punt return touchdowns by the Falcons in the second quarter.
Wayne stretched its lead to 67-0 after three quarters and tacked on two more scores in the fourth.
Teddy Metcalf led the Van Buren offense with 35 yards on the ground. He was the only Warrior to eclipse 10 yards of total offense.
Van Buren is now 0-4 overall. The Warriors have been shutout in three straight games.
The Warriors will have an opportunity to right the ship this week when they head to Columbus for their first district game.
