Van Buren wins Nike Invite
Mt. Pleasant’s Wilson wins individually

BURLINGTON — It was a battle at the top in Notre Dame’s home boys golf tournament on Tuesday, but when the dust settled, Van Buren County stood tall.
The Warriors won the meet by seven strokes. Van Buren County finished the day at 352, beating out the hosting Nikes, who shot a 359.
Mt. Pleasant finished in third place at 360. Winfield-Mount Union took fourth at 381.
Van Buren County had four scores under 100 to take home the title.
Anthony Duncan led the way for the Warriors with an 81. Clayton Bruckman was right behind at 82. T.J. Jirak shot 94. Lucas McEntee finished at 95.
Riley Bruckman was the first golfer behind the scoring four for Van Buren County. He shot 100. Dylan Richardson was two behind him at 102.
The individual championship went to Brevin Wilson of Mt. Pleasant. Wilson was the only golfer under 80, taking home individual medalist honors with a 79.
Nick Matheny was the next golfer down the list for Mt. Pleasant, knotching an 89 on the day. Reece Kempker shot a 90.
Mt. Pleasant’s fourth scorer was Ian Hake, who logged a 102. Reece Coffman and Nate Dismang both finished at 112.
All four scorers for WMU were within three strokes of each other. The Wolves were led by Brady Loyd and Brady Wade, who each shot a 94. Carter Loyd finished at 96, and Jacob Kongable shot a 97.
The two Wolves who finished outside of the scoring four weren’t far behind. Seth Schurr shot a 104, and Isaac Schurr ended his day at 105.
