Senior Kassie Vazquez scored 19 points to lead Highland to a 44-34 win over Wapello in Tuesday?s Class 2A Region 5 quarterfinal.
Senior Kelsey Doreo added 10 points and seven rebounds for the Huskies (13-10), who advance to Friday?s regional semifinal at Iowa City Regina (16-4). Sophomore Bridget Murphy had five assists and five steals to go with three points.
