KEOSAUQUA - The Van Buren County football team better get used to their home field this year, because they'll be spending a lot of time on it.
Including their preseason opener, VBC will play five of their seven games at home and travel for just two of them, after the new shake-up in scheduling following the new COVID-19 guidelines put out by the Iowa High School Athletic Association.
VBC was originally set to play four road games this season. The Warriors were going to play at Highland in Week 1, and then rematch their lone win from last season, Columbus, in Week 4. Both those games had to be eliminated, along with a Week 3 road game at West Burlington-Notre Dame.
The Warriors will begin their season with a scrimmage game against Albia this Friday night. That is the first of three-straight home games to begin the season.
VBC will host Central Lee, Mediapolis, Louisa-Muscatine and Pekin in 2020. Louisa-Muscatine will be Van Buren's homecoming game on Sept. 25.
The Warriors will travel just over an hour and-a-half total for their road games this season. They'll face Sigourney-Keota and Cardinal on the road on Sept. 18 and Oct. 2 respectively.
Listed below is the full 2020 shceuld for the VBC football team.
