VBC swept at Central Lee

DONNELLSON - It was a tough night for the Van Buren County volleyball team in their Southeast Iowa Super Conference South Division game at Central Lee on Thursday. The Warriors faltered in three sets, losing 25-11, 25-10 and 25-16.
Despite the loss, the Warriors received a good performance from senior hitter Chelsey Huff, who tallied nine of VBC's 17 kills on the night. Ella Jirak, Shea Scott and Isabel Manning finished the night with two kills apiece, and both Jaelyn Boley and Kalyn Tuttle had one kill.
Manning dished out 13 assists in the loss. She also led the team with nine digs.
Jirak finished the night with seven digs. Scott, Boley and Kadence Nusbaum each had six digs. Huff had four.
The Warriors will now set their sites on the top team in Class 1A. VBC will play at No. 1 Holy Trinity Catholic tonight (Tuesday).
