VBC, WMU, Hillcrest show out at SEISC tourney
Warriors, Wolves and Ravens all finish Top-4 in conference boys golf tournament

WAPELLO — The 2025 Southeast Iowa Super Conference boys golf tournament took place on Wednesday at Heritage Oaks Golf Course, and three area teams finished in the Top-4.
Van Buren County, Winfield-Mount Union and Hillcrest Academy took second, third and fourth respectively at the event. The Warriors shot a 332, eight points behind conference champion Central Lee, and the Wolves and Ravens were close behind, shooting 335 and 345.
WACO and New London finished just outside of the Top-10. WACO shot 420, for 11th, and New London shot 421, for 12th.
Columbus and Highland were a few spots behind, taking 14th and 15th respectively. Thw Wildcats shot 432, while the Huskies shot 470.
The Union area’s best individual was VBC sophomore Will Cocherell, who shot a 78 to finish second. Teammate Leo Jirak was sixth, at 82. Jerrod Griffin shot 85 for 11th, a nd Ethan Pforts rounded out the Warriors’ scorers with a 15th-place 87.
The highest Winfield-Mount Union finish was junior Konner Kinneberg, who finished up at 81. Cody Milks was just two strokes back of his teammate, shooting 83. Nicholas Sparrow and Sinjin Brown shot 85 and 86 respectively.
Hillcrest Academy was led by the duo of Rowan Miller and Liam Schrock, who each shot 79 to tie for third. Lawson Schrock was the third Raven scorer at 93, and both Ethan Yoder and Matthew Chalupa finished at 94.
WACO’s Malachi Rinner led the Warriors in their first-ever conference golf meet, shooting 87 on the day. Ian Maize shot an 89. Kellen Shelman finished at 116, and Carsten Wilson was the fourth scorer, at 128.
New London’s Sullivan Barron shot a 100. Teammates Israel Lemley and Memphis Watson finished at 103 and 104 respectively, and Riley Raines ended the day at 114.
Ryan Coil shot a 99 for Columbus. Mason Hardy finished up at 109. Kai Allec shot 135, and Mason Heck finished at 138.
For Highland, it was Isaac Giesmann who paced the team, shooting a 114. Landon Rolling finished at 116. Tyson Grout shot a 117, and Preson Smith rounded out the scorers at 123.
