It was a struggle for the Southeast Iowa Union small school volleyball teams on Tuesday. New London’s sweep of North Mahaska was the only win of the day.
New London 3, North Mahaska 0
New London started the year out hot, knocking North Mahaska off in a non-conference home game.
The Tigers never let the Warhawks get to 20 points. New London took sets 25-19, 25-15 and 25-19.
Sigourney 3, Pekin 1
After dropping the first two sets, 25-20 and 25-13, Pekin was able to rally back to defeat Sigourney 25-23 in the third. The Savages, however came right back with a 25-15 fourth-set win to put it away.

The Ravens struggled to contain North Linn at a quad in Alburnett. The Linx ousted Hillcrest Academy 25-9, 25-4.

The Ravens dropped a pair of matches in Alburnett. They were also done in by Hudson, who knocked off Hillcrest Academy 25-8, 25-10.

The Comets couldn’t scoop up a win in their South Central Conference debut. The two teams split the opening sets, but Clark dominated the next two, winning the day 25-15, 19-25, 25-16, 25-16.
No. 8 (1A) Notre Dame 2, Keota 0
