Area teams were piling up the wins in Tuesday night’s conference action. Winfield-Mount Union, Highland, Pekin and New London all scooped up wins.
Winfield-Mount Union 3, Hillcrest Academy 0
It was all WMU in a battle of Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division foes. The Wolves knocked off the Ravens 25-2, 25-7, 25-15.
Bradie Buffington and Melina Oepping each had six kills to lead WMU. Keely Malone dished out 19 assists, and Keetyn Townsley had seven digs.
Hillcrest Academy’s Niva Helmuth had seven kills in the game. Claire Withrow tallied seven assists and Malie Yoder had seven digs.
Highland 3, Columbus 1
It was an absolute battle in a SEISC North clash in Columbus. Highland stood tall in the end, beating the Wildcats 26-24, 25-21, 19-25, 25-19.
Sarah Burton led the Huskies with 14 kills and 16 digs. Grace Prybil dished out 13 assists. MyLei Smith was second in digs, with 13.
Aracely Garza had nine kills for Columbus. Jocelyn Hernandez finished with seven. Sara Vela dished out 21 assists.
Pekin 3, Louisa-Muscatine 1
Pekin moved to 2-2 in the SEISC North with a four-set win over Louisa-Muscatine. The Panthers beat the Falcons 25-10, 18-25, 25-11, 25-17.
Kyli Fitzsimmons paced the Panthers with 10 kills. QuinnlynBaker had 19 assists, and eight digs, and Alex Parsons finished with eight digs as well.
No. 10 (1A) New London 3, Van Buren County 0
New London did what it needed to stay toward the top of the SEISC South standings.
Van Buren County played the Tigers close in the third, but New London swept 25-16, 25-16, 25-23.
Sigourney 3, Keota 0 (Monday)
Keota kept it relatively close in the second set, but rival Sigourney was able to win all three. The Savages took sets 25-14, 25-18, 25-10.
