Mid-Prairie (26-7) post 4-2 record at Clear Creek Amana
Mid-Prairie had a great day of volleyball on Saturday at Clear Creek Amana.
The Golden Hawks defeated Earlham 2-0, 21-11, 21-5; Union Community 2-0, 21-16, 21-19; and Martensdale-St. Marys 2-0, 21-8, 21-7.
Mid-Prairie’s lone losses were to North Scott 2-0, 21-12, 21-19 and Clear Creek Amana 2-0, 26-24, 21-19.
Van Buren County, Cardinal compete in Davis County Tournament
Van Buren County and Cardinal both competed in Davis County’s tournament over the weekend.
VBC picked up four wins on the day, dropping just one set.
The Warriors defeated Central Lee 21-16, 21-14; Cardinal 21-16, 21-17; Albia 21-14, 20-22, 15-13 and Albia once more 21-18, 21-19.
Cardinal fell in all four of its matches. The Comets were defeated by Albia 21-14, 21-14; Chariton 21-19, 20-22, 12-15 and Davis County 21-16, 7-21, 8-15.
Columbus (10-14) 3, Highland (17-12) 2
Columbus and Highland had quite the battle on Thursday.
The Wildcats just edged the Huskies 3-2, 25-11, 33-35, 24-21, 25-20 and 16-14.
Kennedy Woepking ended with 13 kills for Columbus. Jessica Del Rio had 10.
Daniela Diaz finished with 36 assists. Aracely Garza and Jocelyn Hernandez both had 25 digs.
Hernandez led the Wildcats in aces as well with four.
Highland’s Adeline Krotz ended with 19 kills. Ava Sexton had 11.
Laney Skelton finished with 36 assists. Lilly Barre carded 26 digs.
Sexton and Katie Herrig both had three aces.
WACO (7-18) 3, Louisa-Muscatine (3-16) 1
WACO picked up a big win over Louisa-Muscatine on Thursday night.
The Warriors won two straight sets, 25-21, 25-16 before the Falcons took the third 25-21. WACO was able to close it out with a 25-17 win.
Brenna Graber had 12 kills for WACO and Carlee Lunsford 10.
Morgan Meyer ended with 23 assists. Brenna Graber also had 26 digs and Peyton Graber 22.
Lunsford tallied six aces.
Notre Dame (21-11) 3, New London (4-18) 0
New London came up short against a stout Burlington Notre Dame team on Thursday.
The Tigers put together a solid outing, but fell to the Nikes 25-12, 25-22 and 25-13.
HLV (11-13) 3, Keota (3-12) 0
Keota was defeated by HLV last Thursday in three sets, 25-20, 25-16 and 25-22.
