Volleyball roundup: Wolves, Warriors, Ravens all winners

Winfield-Mt. Union 3, Columbus 1
Winfield-Mt. Union was able to hang on after winning the opening two sets against Columbus Tuesday night.
The Wolves were winners 25-19 in each of the first two frames. Columbus answered back with a big 25-16 set three victory, but WMU just edge the Wildcats in the fourth 25-22.
For WMU, Audrie Gipple ended with a team-high 13 kills. Aurey Meeker led with 18 assists as well as 20 digs.
Meeker along with Kailey Neil each had three aces.
WACO 3, Lone Tree 1
WACO stays hot with a nice victory over Lone Tree on Tuesday.
The Warriors won two straight sets 25-19 and 25-23 before the Lions got one back with a 25-23 victory.
However, the Warriors ended it in the fourth 25-19.
Emma Wagler finished with 10 kills in the victory.
Meredith Roth had 33 assists. Halle Shelman tallied 26 digs and Jessica Unternahrer carded five aces.
Van Buren County 3, Danville 1
Things didn’t start on the right foot for VBC on Tuesday against Danville.
The Warriors were defeated in the opening set 25-22.
But they bounced back with three straight wins 25-22, 25-17 and 25-23.
Hillcrest Academy 3, Pekin 1
Hillcrest Academy get to above .500 with a victory over Pekin Tuesday evening.
The Ravens were dominant in the opening frame with a 25-15 win.
Pekin did well to hold off Hillcrest in the second for a victory themselves 25-23.
However, the Ravens got back to their winning ways in the third and fourth, 25-15 and 25-20.
For the Ravens, Malia Yoder finished with a high of 14 kills.
Claire Withrow finished with 33 assists. Yoder tallied 16 digs along with five aces. Kylee Statler had five aces as well.
Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont 3, Cardinal 0
Cardinal fell in three straight sets to the Rockets on Tuesday night, 25-11, 25-13 and 25-13.
Emma Becker had a team-high three kills for the Comets.
Megan Ward ended with six assists. Brinlee Ostrander finished with 10 digs. Emarie Finch had two aces to lead Cardinal.
Wapello 3, Highland 0
Highland had a tough go with Wapello on Tuesday.
The Huskies were swept by the Arrows 25-22, 25-17 and 25-18 on the night.
