The inclement weather in Southeast Iowa led to an unusual situation on Thursday night for Winfield-Mt. Union. The two teams played different teams on the same night, with the boys falling 45-42 at Holy Trinity and the girls dropping a game at Holy Trinity 45-27.
The boys trailed 14-9 after one quarter, 26-20 at halftime and 34-33 after three quarters.
Christian Gerot ended the night with a team-leading 12 points and six assists. Ty Tocum had 11 points. Daunte Oepping and Jared Arnold scored nine points each, and Bryce Wade inished with one.
The Lady Wolves trailed 15-11 after one quarter and 26-19 at halftime before Wapello blew the game open with a 15-3 third quarter.
Jobey Malone finished the night with 10 ponits. Jami Wilkerson had seven. Farrah Nelson had six points and 10 rebounds, and both Kyndal Townsley and Bradie Buffington finished with two.
