W-MU boys fall at Lone Tree

LONE TREE -- Winfield-Mt. Union hung tight with Lone Tree through three quarters on Tuesday night, but the Lions pulled away with a dominant fourth quarter and the Wolves stayed winless with a 63-39 loss.
Lone Tree led 16-13 after the first quarter and 33-23 at halftime. Both teams scored 12 pionts in the third quarter to keep the lead at 10, with Lone Tree holding a 43-33 advantage after three quarters.
W-MU ran out of gas in the fourth quarter. The Lions outscored the Wolves 18-4 in the final period to run away with the win.
Despite the loss, W-MU got another good game out of Ty Yocum inside. Yocum went 7-9 from the field to lead the team with 15 points. Jared Arnold added 10 points. Josh Burroughs had eight points and seven rebounds, and Christian Gerot had six points and four assists. Only those four Wolves found the scoreboard.
