W-MU boys take sixth, led by Quinn?s top-10 finish
Johnathan Quinn crossed the line in ninth place and the Winfield-Mt. Union boys? cross-country team finished sixth overall in yesterday?s Mt. Pleasant Invite.
Quinn completed the race at McMillan Park in 17:38 to lead the Wolves, averaging a 5:40 mile on the 5K course.
He was followed by Gavin Bencze, who took 13th of 78 runners in the Class A race with a time of 17:49, and Kollin Lintz was 17th in 18:03.

Levi Giese was the Wolves? fourth runner, taking 40th overall with a time of 19:25, and Luke Beard rounded out the scoring with a 46th-place finish in 19:53.
The Wolves had a team total of 125.
Wapello won the meet with 68 points, followed by Louisa-Muscatine with 80. The Falcons barely beat out third-place Mediapolis, 81 points.
Columbus took fourth with 104 points and Van Buren claimed the fifth spot with 117.
The Wolves finished ahead of Notre Dame/West Burlington (195), Danville/New London (205), West Liberty (210), Central Lee (255), Holy Trinity (276) and Harmony (304).
Also running varsity for the Wolves was Kohlton Heinzel, who placed 52nd with a time of 20:14. Tristan Klopfenstein took 67th in 21:19.
W-MU had two girls racing: Grace Edwards was 34th of 63 runners with a time of 19:17 in the 4K race, and Steffanie Watson-Hewitt took 45th in 20:05.
The Wolves will run again at their home invite on Thursday, Oct. 3, during homecoming week at W-MU.
