W-MU drops home game

WINFIELD - Winfield-Mt. Union had it within two scores in the third quarter on Friday night, but they couldn't muster enough second-half offense to upset Iowa Valley. The Tigers outlasted the Wolves 48-22 in district play.
Daunte Oepping had another big game despite the loss. He was 11-20 for 212 ayrds throwing the ball, and also ran for 115 yards and three touchdowns.
Jacob Ford caught three passes for 93 yards to lead the Wolevs' receiving core. Christian Gerot had four catches for 65 yards and Juanito Piper had four catches for 54.
Piper led the defense with 12 total tackles.
W-MU is now 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the district. They'll face English Valleys on the road this week.
