W-MU girls notch another win over Lone Tree
LONE TREE ? In Thursday night?s game at Lone Tree, the Winfield-Mt. Union girls overcame a first-half deficit to earn another win, 51-42.

LONE TREE ? In Thursday night?s game at Lone Tree, the Winfield-Mt. Union girls overcame a first-half deficit to earn another win, 51-42.
The Wolves are now 16-4 on the season with only their SEISC shootout game to play tonight before beginning the regional tournament on Feb. 9.
Against Lone Tree, the Wolves opened the game with only six points in the first quarter, and Lone Tree led 11-6.
The Lions maintained a lead but the Wolves chipped away, and Lone Tree led by only two at the end of the second quarter, 22-20.
The Wolves made their move in the third quarter, adding 16 points to take a two-point lead of their own at 36-34.
In the final eight minutes, the W-MU girls sealed the win by scoring another 15 points while allowing the Lions only eight.
Cassie Kingery led the Wolves with 15 points in the game. Kassidy McLaughlin added eight points, while Alicia Escher and Shelby Therme chipped in seven points each. Anna Crawford and Sarah Chaney scored six points apiece.
Kingery and Escher were the team rebound leaders, grabbing seven boards each. Therme and Chaney had five boards apiece, while Mclaughlin and Katelyn McArtor each grabbed four.
McLaughlin and Threme dished three assists each, and Kingery had six steals on the night. Chaney had two blocks.
The Wolves will host Central Lee in the second-place SEISC shootout game tonight, starting with a JV contest at 6 p.m.
