PACKWOOD - The Winfield-Mt. Union defense was too strong for Pekin in the girls basketball game on Tuesday night. The Wolves stifled the Panthers' offense all night en route to a 36-19 Super Conference North Division victory.

Pekin was held to single digits for three quarters of the game. The Panthers trailed the Wolves 23-7 at halftime and 35-9 after three quarters.
Kerrigan Pope led Pekin with 10 points. Sophie Wittrock scored seven points and Erika Coleman had two.
