W-MU girls up conference, season record
WAPELLO ? The Winfield-Mt. Union girls? basketball team traveled to Wapello last night and took a win from their Southeast Iowa Super Conference North opponent, 51-42.
Shelby Therme was the leading scorer for the Wolves in the matchup, putting 13 points on the board.
Kassidy McLaughlin and Anna Crawford also broke into double figures, scoring 10 points each.

Shelby Therme was the leading scorer for the Wolves in the matchup, putting 13 points on the board.
Kassidy McLaughlin and Anna Crawford also broke into double figures, scoring 10 points each.
Cassie Kingery added nine to the Wolves? total, Sarah Chaney scored six and Alicia Escher came off the bench to chip in three.
As a team, W-MU shot 16-for-46 from the field (34.8 percent). They were 15-for-20 from the free-throw line and four-for-10 from behind the arc.
The team grabbed 14 steals and 37 rebounds.
Leading the latter category was McLaughlin, who pulled down eight boards in the game against Wapello.
Chaney and Therme were close behind, grabbing seven rebounds each. Escher added six.
Kingery had a team-high five thefts in the contest.
Kingery and McLaughlin dished three assists each, and Therme had the team?s only block.
The Wolves won?t play again until Jan. 3, when they host Lone Tree, starting at 6 p.m.
