W-MU softball team whips Wildcats

COLUMBUS - The Winfield-Mt. Union softball team cruised to victory on Friday in Columbus. The Wolves shut down the Wildcats 10-0 to earn an SEISC North Division victory.
W-MU scored three runs in the first inning, one each in the second and third, four in the fourth and one in the fifth to keep constant pressure on the Columbus defense.
Madie Anderson dominated in the circle, giving up just one hit and one over five shutout innings. She struck out 12 batters in the win.
Anna Anderson was 1-4 with three RBIs at the plate. Carlee Sloan went 2-4 with two RBIs. Keetyn Townsley was 3-4 with an RBI.
Molly Miller was 2-3 with a double and an RBI. Madie went 2-3 with an RBI. Naya Silva was 1-3 with an RBI, and Kayreanna Sharar went 2-3.
W-MU is now 3-1 on the season. They'll ride their three-game winning streak into a home contest against Highland tonight (Monday).
