WINFIELD - The Tri-County Trojans haven't played a football game since the 2018-19 sea on, and their first game back to action will be on the football field right outside of Winfield High School.
The Winfield-Mt. Union football team will host Tri-County in their 2020 home opener, one of four Wolves home games on this year's schedule.
Tri-County was set to play W-MU last season, as well as the other two Union coverage area 8-Man teams; New London and WACO. The Trojans had to forfeit their season due to lack of participation.
The Wolves were originally set to open the season on the road against Lone Tree, a familiar foe. The COVID-19 inspired schedule shake-up forced W-MU to cancel their game at Lone Tree and also their scheduled Week 2 home matchup with Moravia.
Along with Tri-County, the Wolves will play Iowa Valley, English Valleys and WACO all at home in 2020. The English Valleys and WACO games are the final two contests on the Wolves' schedule.
W-MU will play three road games. The Wolves will travel to Montezuma in Week 2, play at Twin Cedars in Week 3, and take on New London in Week 5.
Due to having New London as their final road game and playing three of their last four on the road, W-MU will play four-straight games in Henry County to close out the 2020 season.
The Wolves will be coming off a 1-8 season. The 2019 W-MU football team won one game, a 76-46 victory over River Ridge, Illinois.
Listed below is the full 2020 W-MU football schedule. All games are scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m.
