WACO basketball teams lose against Danville
The WACO basketball teams were host to Danville Tuesday, Jan. 10, with the evening ending in losses for both teams. The girls fell by a 19-48 final score and the boys lost by a 29-76 final.
In the girls game, Danville would get on the board first, scoring two points within the first minute and added one more just a minute later.

The WACO basketball teams were host to Danville Tuesday, Jan. 10, with the evening ending in losses for both teams. The girls fell by a 19-48 final score and the boys lost by a 29-76 final.
In the girls game, Danville would get on the board first, scoring two points within the first minute and added one more just a minute later.
WACO would get on the board in the second half of the first quarter scoring on a free throw and a 2o-point shot and WACO added one from a free throw to put the score a 3-4 Danville after one.
Both teams would go back and forth in the first portion of the second quarter until Danville broke away going on a nine-point streak to end the quarter up 16-7.
After the break, Danville would continue their scoring drive adding another four before WACO would respond scoring five.
Danville added five more points late in the third before WACO scored a bucket to end the quarter at 14-27 in the visitors? favor.
Danville would keep WACO from adding many points in the final frame as they gave up just five points while scoring 21 of their own to hand the loss to the Warriors.
Kiana Miller led the girls in scoring with eight. Kristen Conelly scored four points. Nadiyah Brown added three points.
Halle Kissell scored two points and having one point each from a free throw were Ashleigh Hallett and Clara Schmitz.
The girls team moves to 4-7 for the season.
The Danville boys started out their game strong by scoring four points at the start before WACO could get on the board with two.
Danville added another 11 points before WACO scored five points. Danville scored two more points to end the quarter up 17-7.
Danville only gave up four points to WACO in the second quarter while adding an additional 22 to their side of the scoreboard to go into the half up 39-11.
WACO would start the third quarter with a rally, adding seven before Danville would score 10 points to add to their lead.
WACO added only two more points with three minutes left in the third quarter where Danville put on an additional eight to have a 66-20 lead after three.
WACO would only score nine points in the fourth quarter while Danville added 10 more points to the board to get the win.
Conner Eichelberger led the boys in scoring with 11 points. Beau Beckler scored five points.
Having three points each were Colton Horak, Jaren Unternahrer and Nik Coble. Jacob Fried and Matthew Leichty both scored two points in the game.
The boys have a 1-10 record for the season.
Both teams travel Friday to face Holy Trinity. The girls game begins at 6 p.m.
