WACO coming off magical season

The WACO football team was the talk of Southeast Iowa after making it all the way to the Class 8-Player championship last fall. WACO won its first 13 games of the season before losing in the title game.

The Warriors will return a few major pieces from last year’s squad, including junior Louden Huisenga, who ran for 463 yards and 11 touchdowns, and second-leading tackler Colton Leichty, who finished with 90 tackles last season.

The WACO volleyball team finished one game short of winning the SEISC North last year. The Warriors do have some big time returning talent, including seniors Emma Wagler (163 kills) and Marie Farmer (117 kills).

In cross-country, the WACO boys are coming off a seventh-place finish in the conference.
