BURLINGTON - The WACO boys' basketball team couldn't pull off the season sweep of Notre Dame on Thursday night. After knocking off the Nikes 68-66 in double overtime at WACO, the Warriors fell 61-54 on Thursday.
The Warriors had trouble keeping Notre Dame's Gavin Kies off the scoreboard. Kies, who scored 26 points in their previous matchup, put up 25 points to lead the Nikes.
Three Warriors reached double-digits in the loss. Nik Coble scored 17 points, and both Drew Kissell and Gabe Reichenbach put in 12.
WACO fell to 11-4 with the loss. They have a quick turnaround tonight (Friday) in the SEISC boys' shootout. WACO will take on Wapello on the road. The Warriors defeated the Indians 43-32 in the first game of the season.
