WAYLAND — WACO High School hosted a senior signing day last week, and among the group were two football players. Simeon Reichenbach will be off to Grand View University next year, and Drew Diers will play at Loras.
Reichenbach and Diers were a huge part of the 2022 Warriors’ run, which saw WACO put together the best season in school history, making it all the way to the Class 8-Player state championship game.

Reichenbach has been the anchor of the WACO offense for the duration of the Warriors’ recent run of succes. He ran for a ridiculous 1,576 yards and 33 touchdowns this year, while also going for 402 yards and five scores through the air. He also scored once on defense, on one of four takeaways.
“I'm glad I've made this decision finally,” Reichenbach told Slaten Swords of KILJ Radio. “I'm glad I don't have the weight of the decision on me anymore.”
Reichenbach, who also set a school record with 22 made field goals in his career, reflected on the 2022 season, which ended in a first team All-State selection for the senior running back.
“I love football, and it was great that we could win,” Reichenbach said. “If we weren't winning, I'd still have fun, I think.”

Diers, who will study Kinesiology, was a defensive super star for the Warriors. The future Loras linebacker led the team with 108 tackles on the season.
“This season was the most fun I've ever had in my life,” Diers said. “Every day I looked forward to going to practice. Even if we were 0-8, I would have still had so much fun with these guys.”
Diers also spoke about why he thought Loras College felt right for his future.
“I really like the town and the atmosphere of the team,” Diers said. “Out of all the colleges that I was interested in, and were interested in me, their style of football appealed to me the most.“
Reichenbach will be joining a Grand View team that went 13-1 and earned a spot in the NAIA FCS semifinals. Diers will join a Loras squad that will be coming off of a 5-5 season.
