WACO girls fall on road
Warriors drop non-conference game at Iowa Valley
MARENGO — The WACO girls basketball team traveled to Marengo on Thursday night for a non-conference clash. The Warriors hung tight for three quarters, but an offensive explosion for Iowa Valley turned the contest into 57-35 Warrior loss.
Iowa Valley led the game 15-8 after one quarter and 31-22 at the half. WACO played its best defensive quarter in the third, but the Warriors only scored four of their own, and it was a 37-26 lead after the third.
Iowa Valley scored 20 points in the fourth quarter, turning what was barely a double-digit lead into a 22-point win.
The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Warriors. WACO is now 6-6 on the season.
