WACO girls take first in home relays

The WACO girls track team held a track meet Tuesday, May 2, where the Warriors finished the meet in first place out of five teams participating.

Helping the team achieve its first place position was Mayme Hihn in the discus and shot put.

She was the leader going 83 feet 6 inches in the discus and 31 feet 4 1/4 inches in the shot put.

In the 200-meter dash, Grace Conwell came in first with a time of 29.07.

Kiana Miller had a time of 1:08.88 in the 400-meter dash to take first place.

Laney Graber finished the 800-meter run in first place with a time of 2:39.90.

Makenzie Shelman crossed the finish line first in the 3000-meter run in a time of 16:57.36 while Kanon Ujiie took second with a time of 17:45.98.

Moriah Boone came in first in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:26.60 with Clara Schmitz following in second with a time of 1:30.64.

The shuttle hurdle team had a time of 1:13.74 to take first place. The 4x100- and 4x400-meter relay teams took second place.

The girls will be joined by the boys for a home meet Thursday, April 4, starting at 4:30 p.m.
