WACO goes 3-0 in Sigourney

SIGOURNEY - The WACO wrestling team is 3-0 to start the year after three dual wins in Sigourney on Thursday night. The Warriors took down Baxter 60-12, Montezuma 45-17 and the hosting Savages 42-30.

The Warriors won all but two matches against Baxter, with both of their two losses being via forfeit. WACO picked up four pins in the dual, getting pins from Landon Provino at 220 lbs., Ben Schlatter at 138 lbs., Jaden Williams at 5:21 lbs., and Robert Frazer at 1:03.

The Warriors kept it up against Montezuma. Williams picked up another pin, a first-period win at 145 lbs.

WACO won nine of the first 11 matches against Sigourney-Keota. There was one double forfeit at 113 lbs., and Sigourney-Keota took the final three matches, albeit by forfeit in the final two.
