WACO’s quarterfinal loss last Thursday night spelled the end of the 2021 football season for Class 8-Player’s District 6. Shortly afterward, the All-District team was released.
The District 6 squad predictably featured a laundry list of players from the Union coverage area. WACO, New London and Winfield-Mount Union were three of the top four teams in the league.
After an undefeated district championship, the Warriors led the district with seven names on the first team, including Defensive MVP Jonah Clark.
Clark had a huge year for the Warriors on the defensive side of the ball. He finished tied for second on the squad with 44 tackles, including four sacks.
Clark also had two takeaways on the year, one fumble recovery and one interception.
The offensive MVP Award was given to Beau Flanders of English Valleys. Iowa Valley’s Roman Peach was named the Lineman MVP.
WACO head coach Chad Edeker was given the Coach of the Year award. Edeker led the Warriors to a 6-0 district record and the team finished the season 10-1 after the quarterfinal loss.
